On July 18th and 19th, the MERITA Consortium gathered in Athens, Greece, for a Transnational Project Meeting hosted by the B. & M. Theocharakis Foundation.
The meeting served as a pivotal moment for the partners to reflect on the progress of the MERITA initiative. Key discussions included the completion of artistic residencies, evaluations of concert experiences, and brainstorming innovative approaches for upcoming phases. In Athens, the consortium celebrated the success of 14 MERITA concerts held across Europe, in cities such as Naples, Padua, Paris, Potsdam, Nicosia, Copenhagen, and Milan. These performances have highlighted the project’s dedication to cultural heritage and artistic excellence.
Sustainability also took centre stage, with updates on MERITA’s initiatives such as specialised training for quartets, the development of a CO2 Calculator, and environmental analyses tailored for historic cultural sites.
The event fostered a powerful sense of community and collaboration, reinforcing the shared mission to blend music and heritage in meaningful ways. Partners departed Athens inspired by the stunning Acropolis and fueled with motivation to drive MERITA’s vision forward.
