On 15th June 2022, the annual General Assembly took place at the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels, combining it with a seminar on the European Union’s functioning and access to funds.
The EU seminar revolved around the EU funds and the possibilities of private owners benefitting from them. There were key speakers from the EU institutions presenting different EU programmes, among which ERDF (European Regional Development Fund), Erasmus+ and Creative Europe. Moreover, successful stories of private owners who accessed such funds were also presented. Participants had the opportunity to network with international guests and ask questions regarding curiosities or technical details about applying for any of the programmes. The rich programme included inspirational speeches and interesting panel discussions with experts sharing information, reflections, and experiences of EU-funded programmes.
The seminar was followed by the networking dinner organised at L’Association de la Noblesse du Royaume de Belgique. There, Vianney-Marie Audemard d’Alançon from Château de la Barben was crowned the winner of the European Young Heritage Entrepreneur of the Year 2022, an award aimed at highlighting innovation by young owners of historic properties.
